Submission process

  1. Register for free and log in
  2. In your profile menu, click the tab “write a new post”, or directly click “submit post” in the top navigation menu.
  3. In the editor box, write your Italian story together with the English translation
  4. When your story is ready, click “submit for review”. After that, you may not edit your post anymore.
  5. I’ll review your post in 48 hours.  Every post correctly submitted will be added to the user-submitted post section on the Italian short stories page under your name (or nickname). You’ll earn points for your work.
  6. Particularly good posts will be moved to the regular collection of Italian short stories under your name (or nickname). If needed, I’ll correct the grammar in the Italian text. Then, I’ll record the audio and add a cover picture. Finally, I’ll publish it.
  7. Every post automatically participates to future writing contests. Share your post with the world to win!


  • Non-native Italian language learners at all levels are welcome
  • Only individuals can submit posts (not organizations, companies, etc.)
  • The submitter and the author must be the same person
  • Include an English translation
  • In each post, the total length of the Italian and English versions must be between 250 and 500 words. If your story is longer, split it into 2 or more posts (“my story title 1”, “my story title 2” …).
  • Virtually any topic is accepted: travel, food, history, daily life, politics, society, shopping, pets, culture…
  • No offensive or sexually explicit material


  • You’ll be acknowledged as the author of your posts under your real name. You may also use a nickname, as you wish.
  • You grant me the irrevocable right to edit and publish your posts on my website and share them online (e.g. groups for Italian learners on social media).
  • You may post stories that you’ve already published somewhere else, provided that you’re the author
