Oscar alla carriera alla regista Lina Wertmuller

Il prossimo 27 Ottobre la regista novantenne Lina Wertmuller riceverà l’Oscar alla carriera.

Lina Wertmuller è stata la prima donna candidata all’Oscar come migliore regista, per il film Pasqualino Settebellezze nella cerimonia del 1977.

“Sono felice per questa notizia” ha dichiarato la regista “Non me lo aspettavo l’Oscar, ma lo prendo volentieri”, ha poi aggiunto con la solita ironia.

La regista dedica l’Oscar a Enrico Job, compagno di vita e di lavoro, e alla loro figlia Maria.

I suoi film  sono molto amati anche all’estero e sono tante le rassegne nel mondo a lei dedicate.

Il film Pasqualino Settebellezze resta il film più famoso e ha ottenuto una candidatura ai Golden Globe e quattro candidature all’Oscar (tra cui quella come miglior regista, prima volta in assoluto nella storia dell’Academy per una donna).

Quando si chiede alla Wertmuller qual è il film del cuore della sua filmografia, la regista risponde che non lo sa, perché sono tutti suoi figli.

Academy Honorary Award to director Lina Wertmuller

Next 27th October the 90-year-old director Lina Wertmuller will receive the Academy Honorary Award.

Lina Wertmuller has been the first woman nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director, for the movie Pasqualino Settebellezze in the 1977 ceremony.

“I am happy to hear this news” she declared “I was not expecting an Academy Award, but I gladly take it” she added with her usual irony.

The director dedicates the award to Enrico Job, life and work partner, and to their daughter Maria.

Her movies are very appreciated also abroad, and many festivals have been dedicated to her.

The film Pasqualino Settebellezze remains her most famous picture and it obtained a Golden Globe nomination and four Academy Awards nominations (including the one for Best Director, first time ever happened for a woman in the Academy history).

When you ask Wertmuller which is her favourite movie of her filmography, she replies she doesn’t know, as they are all like her children.
