- Experience points (XP) to unlock badges that show your achievements and raise your rank as a language learner
- Lire (pronounced LEE-REH) to buy premium learning resources. Fun fact: it’s named after the pre-euro Italian currency.

How to submit a post
- Register for free and log in
- In your profile menu, click the tab “write a new post”, or click “submit post” in the top navigation menu.
- In the editor box, write your Italian story together with the English translation
- When your story is ready, click “submit for review”. After that, you may not edit your post anymore.
- I’ll review your post in 48 hours. If needed, I’ll correct the grammar in the Italian text. Then, I’ll record the audio and add a cover picture.
- I’ll add your post to our collection of Italian short stories under your nickname. You’ll earn points for your work.
- Every post automatically participates to future writing contests. Share your post with the world to win!
Guidelines
- Non-native Italian language learners at all levels are welcome
- Only individuals can submit posts (not organizations, companies, etc.)
- The submitter and the author must be the same person
- Include an English translation
- In each post, the total length of the Italian and English versions must be between 250 and 500 words. If your story is longer, split it into 2 or more posts (“my story title 1”, “my story title 2” …).
- Virtually any topic is accepted: travel, food, history, daily life, politics, society, shopping, pets, culture…
Rules
- You’ll be acknowledged as the author of your posts under your nickname. You may also use your real name, as you wish.
- You grant me the right to edit (fixing grammar and formatting) and publish your posts on my website.
- You may post stories that you’ve already published somewhere else, provided that you’re the author.
